Its pretty amazing to be in an area where you have two of the greatest rivers in the USA so close by. We get up early this morning so we can make it over the same forest road we were on before but we will make it to the Snake River this time. Its hot today and we are looking for shade, we make it to the Snake River boat launch and find the parking lot full of trucks, boats and personal vehicles of people who are out on the river. Jets boats are running up and down the river, we understand the damn is not to far up the river and the jet boat ride is spectacular. We eat our lunch under the shade of a tree at the boat launch, we cant drink enough fluids. Back up the mountain road where there was some traffic, a cow who thought he owned the road. Back in White Bird we went across the Salmon River to Wagonhammer RV park and Campground just down the road from us. It was very nice and they had spaces right on the river. As we walked through their park we saw an unusual sculpture and found out it was created from junk pulled out of the river. Its always a reminder to leave it cleaner than when you came. Back to White Bird and going underneath Hwy 95 bridge reminds us of the very steep grade we came down to get to White Bird, check your brakes and go slow. We had some very nice neighbors at Salmon River RV Park Dave and his wife, he is a miner in Nevada and had this great GMC pickup, I hope to have one when I grow up.
