9-7-2020 Lewiston ID

The smoke has been creeping in slowly to our area from all the fires in California, Oregon and Idaho, we decide to head home. Our first stop is in Lewiston Idaho at a restaurant called Brava’s, the wind was still blowing so we sat inside, the service was great and the food was even better. After lunch Angela was needing a cup of coffee, how strange is that:) we find down the street an interesting place called the Blue Lantern Coffee House. Angela is giddy over a new coffee place, its like having the excitement of a new boyfriend but coffee is the elixir. The bakery case is full of delights and a organic blueberry scone is calling out my name. The downtown area is very nice full of stories of the past, we stop to enjoy a blue buffalo and words of wisdom carved in to a bench. The plan is to drive all the way home today so back to the smoky, windy road. We cross over the Lewiston-Clarkston Bridge heading to the Columbia Gorge. The smoke and wind are fighting us all the way, many fire trucks headed in the opposite direction thankfully. Once we get to Arlington Oregon the skies clear but, the wind as usual is battling us along the Columbia River. Each city we pass gets us that much closer to home.
