Boondocking Bend

Boondocking Bend OR 10-7-2018

All is well until 7:00 in the morning when again a firm knock on the door, I pull my shorts on not knowing who or what is on the other side of the door to find a female officer saying you have 20 minutes to get out of the parking lot. I started to plead my case as the website said it was ok for over night parking, it did not say you needed to be riding the train to qualify. She concluded our conversation with I could ticket you for being too close to the handicap parking I said no problem we will be gone in 20 minutes! We got up drowsy from the short sleep we got, made sure Angela got some coffee then headed over to have breakfast with our family, Mackenzie and granddaughter Delilah. We make it over to our daughters home to join them for breakfast before I head back to Bend OR and Angela takes the Cooper down to our other daughter Alicia’s home in Corvallis. Our Breakfast stop was to; Off The Griddle, what a great and very popular place, I had their hash & eggs which had no meat at all, vegan and YUMMY. Driving over the pass this afternoon to Bend and got in at Sunset I had pre-determined I would try boondocking on the northside of Bend and had previously seen a number of semi’s and campers on this road (North East Hunnell Road) just north of Lowes. I had heard it was not the best of areas and did see some deserted cars there but was by myself and had the alarm system set with my handgun at the ready. It was dark by the time I set up and had to park the wrong way on the street so the slide outs would not be in the way of traffic. This was Sunday night and one of the reasons I needed to be in Bend was I had a medical procedure the next day called a cystoscopy, not my favorite thing to do but needed to make sure everything in my bladder looked good and we could start this traveling event with piece of mind. It was going to be cold that night and there was traffic on the street, usually big trucks. Before the sun came up a truck pulled in front of me to pick up its trailer so the idling of a diesel and bright lights was how I woke up to greet the day. I have lots to do today, saying good bye to friends, wrapping up business, picking up mail for the last time and of course the cysto tomorrow.
