Plantation Sienna TX 11-21-2018

It’s with excitement and sorrow we are leaving our good friends Joanne and Rob, we are so thankful for their generosity and hospitality but look forward to really hitting the road with the RV refrigerator fixed life will be much easier on the road, not all things got fixed but able to function. As it turned out the fridge could have been fixed in less than an hour but between the wait time at the service center and the wait time for Coachmen to approve it was three weeks a real sign of the industry not being customer oriented. We head out towards Navarre Florida and Emerald Beach RV Resort; we choose this one strategically because I needed to be close to a Dr. Fossum that will be reviewing my health. A few weeks back we got some test results back from a test I had done right before we left. This test was called a fish test, Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is a test that “maps” the genetic material in a person’s cells. My Urologist in an effort to be very thorough ordered it, unfortunately it came back positive for Cancer cells so that’s why we choose Navarre as it was close to Dr Fossum and in a reasonably warm climate. We end up in Vinton LA, Its late at night and we need a place to stay, we find this RV park and the office is closed, its sketchy looking place next to a local casino and restaurant, I walk in to the Magic Cash Casino as its adjoining the RV park to see if I can get some answers. This is definitely not a smoke free atmosphere, as I approach a customer service desk a well-worn older female with a suspicious smile acknowledges me. I ask where the manager might be for the RV park and she says with uncertainty I can probably help. I said we are arriving late and just need a place to park, she said go ahead and park as long as you are not in the way and I said how much? she said don’t worry about it. I’m thankfully and we pull through the park and find a place under a security light to spend the night. There is a giant generator running and some semi’s nearby that are don’t shut their engines off but we are sort of use to the droning sound when we park in out of the ordinary places. after getting settled we decide to get a bite, not many choices so we go to the café adjoining the casino Comeaux’s. Typical truck stop that don’t rely on return customers, friendly but fried everything, I would not recommend it. All the trailers are full timers and not in good condition. I slept with one eye open and no ear plugs.
