Today’s adventure takes back to Destin to meet a friend of a friend for lunch Marie & Keith Taunton. Marie suggests Callahan’s Restaurant & Deli and I would underline Deli as it has a large glass case when you enter the restaurant full of steaks & prime ribs. It’s definitely a locals place there and feels very down home. Our service was great with southern home cooked choices. It was a delight to finally meet my good friend Terri Storters friends and remanence about Terri’s early days in this part of Florida. After a great meal & conversation we say our goodbyes, heading back to the car we spot a store we have not seen before across the parking lot, it’s called Old Time Pottery. This place was huge probably the size of a Walmart, very industrial looking with racks and racks of merchandise. We started looking around and found their pricing to be astonishing, we walked one isle that said clearance and take an additional 75% off of last price, I found a led candle which we needed, since I broke our other one, so its original price was $6.95 marked down to $1.00 now 75% off makes it 25 cents and it had a camouflage finish to boot, love that. We also found this great metal green vase that will serve as our boom box, yes, a sound system that you will need to watch our video below. To continue our exploration of Destin we head over to the boardwalk, since its nearing Christmas time everything is lit up. Our walk took us by all the shops and boats ending with dinner at Floyds Shrimp House and a big bowl of shrimp chowder.
