Santa Rosa/Seaside FL 12-26-2018
It’s slightly overcast but we are going south for the day to a place we had visited years ago with our good friends Terri & Jamie Storter called Seaside FL, one of those idyllic life styles you dream about. Tourist are here taking advantage of the holiday week, lots of families. We walk around in search for a lunch spot, we wanted to be looking out over the Gulf but there were only a few restaurants and they were very busy. We look across the square and see the Great Southern Café, we get seated pretty quickly and ready to eat, the service is attentive and I go for the Mai Mai fish sandwich and Angela goes for the Best Burger made up of grass-fed beef. They are busy but the food comes quickly and is excellent.
After lunch Angela is looking for coffee and we found Amavida Coffee & Tea right across from Seaside Central Square. Its busy, they serve organic coffee and pastry, you can tell they are local and they care. For being patient with Angela’s need to have coffee, she rewards me with an organic cinnamon roll, yum. Heading across the street to the square where there is lots of activity with kids playing football and Frisbee. It’s always entertaining to watch people as we sit on the cement retaining wall surrounding the SOWAL square. One group of kids and adults’ catches are eye as they are especially competitive. As we watch they see us and ask if we want to join them as one of the teenagers is far more athletic than the rest and need to balance the team, I’m reluctant as I know there would be a sprain or strained muscle in store for me. This does not detour Angela; she accepts the challenge but finds their team is still out gunned by the youth. I did capture a picture of her in action below. We go for a walk through the neighborhood to check out the architecture and see if any homes are for sale. The streets are full of golf carts fancy ATV’s as an alternative to cars, parking is always a problem here as you need to be a tenant or owner for any side street parking. The homes are all different no production homes here, Real Estate is brisk and expensive as you would think. We go to an open house and meet a realtor who gets us to speed its a over the top furnished 3 story home, absolutely gorgeous.
