Clermont FL 2-2-2019
We leave our Rainbow Springs Campsite to head north to Clermont FL where our next stay will be for two weeks at another Thousand Trails RV Park Clerbrook RV & Golf. It’s warming up as we head north our destination is not too far so we are no rush knowing the next stop we can relax for a while. We made contact with our cousin (more of niece than cousin) Emily, she is a tour guide at Disney World, yeah I know darn it anyway. So, Emily has offered to be our guide at Disney World on her day off, how nice is that. We are getting close to our new campsite and all of sudden the traffic slows and I hear sirens, never a good combination. We come to stand still and do our best to get our 42 feet of vehicle out of the way. After about 15 minutes we hear a helicopter overhead and now know this is a serious accident, it lands only a couple hundred feet down the road from us. Angela gets out and walks down to see what’s going on, she returns in about 15 minutes with a very sad look on her face the kind you see when things went terribly wrong. As it turns out a motorcyclist was making a u turn and an oncoming car hit him, it turned in to a crime scene and the police were getting everyone to turn around, it’s now getting late in the afternoon and we anxious to get settled in our new place. We get turned around and reprogram our GPS to find a new route. One thing you always need to be awhere about are toll roads either have quarters or sign up for a pass, for the most part we avoid them, but not tonight in rerouting we had to take a toll road well, guess what we were not prepared with quarters so we get to the toll booth (unmanned) and with vehicles pilling up behind us Angela jumps out and runs back to the Mini tow vehicle where our laundry is to find our quarter stash, she is apologizing the whole way to the other motorist who were forgiving after seeing our Oregon plates. We reach the RV Resort as the sun sets; We find a place at the back of this huge RV park 1250 spaces). I’m getting rather good at setting up camp and have an incentive to night as its my birthday and Angela has found an Indian food restaurant that looks great. We are hungry and ready to set down to a great dinner. The place we chose is Guru Restaurant, do not miss this one. The owner came over to check on us, we were of course pleased with the food and service. I noticed a customer who came in after us who had some mangos in his hand which he delivered to the owner, I thought to my self how nice of his customer/friend to bring in fresh fruit, after our meal we were surprised with fresh made mango ice cream with a candle in it, very nice way to end the evening. When we return to RV that night we were greeted the music of the lagoon that we backed up to, the air is heavy with moisture and warmth, we will need the fans on tonight.
