Salinas CA 2-15-2020
We wake up to sunny weather and look outside to see where we are, we parked late last night and could not tell. We are on the edge of a commercial area on one side and residential area on the other side. We felt it was a good spot as there were other RV’s close-by, however before we could finish breakfast we hear an authoritative knock on our door, which changes are feelings. Sure enough the police wanted us out of there, he was apologetic but firm “just doing my job”. I thanked him for his polite manner and began the process of getting ready to go. Angela starts early today to find a spot for the next night as we are headed to the Palm Springs area to see my sister Jan & Otto and also visit Joshua Tree National Forest. Not wanting to have that knock on the door as a wake up call again Angela finds a place at the Weather Tech Raceway (previous Laguna Seca Raceway) to park for the night. I could not be happier as I’m a motor head and this is a famous race track, it’s Friday night so we don’t get to see the track that night but look forward to checking it out in the morning. The raceway is in between the cities of Monterey and Salinas in the rolling coastal hills of California. Their RV park is reasonable and easy to get to.
