Palm Desert 2-18-2020

The Mini Cooper needs to get washed today, lots of road dirt. Have you ever noticed how your car seems to run better after it gets washed, I probably take the relationship I have with cars too seriously. We have a bike rack on top with our mickey mouse trailer lights attached so I need to wash the Mini at a self-car wash. It takes a while to find one, as most of the car washes in Palm Desert are drive through only. We made our reservation today at Joshua Tree Lake RV starting the 19th of February for our next adventure into the Joshua Tree National Park. My sister Jan, Otto, Jan’s daughter Holly and her husband Gary have invited us out to their place in Mountain Vista Sun City Palm Desert. This will be our first exposure to a planned retirement community like this in Palm Desert. When we pull up and it’s very impressive with its grand entrance and guarded gate, it is an exclusive community with immaculate golf courses. We are going to eat at one of the many restaurants it offers, Papa Dans. Its warm out but I’m going to take a fleece shirt as the desert cools off quickly at night. We meet our family out front and we are so glad to see them, it’s a casual place with most of the patrons golfers and many of them already well on there way with happy hour drinks. Pizza is what they are known for so we order an assortment and eat family style, this is the time of year where the weather here is perfect. After great conversation and great food we say our goodbyes and start the planning for our departure tomorrow to Joshua Tree.
