Lake Havasu AZ, 2-29-2020

We are looking for more warm weather so we head to Lake Havasu AZ via El Centro CA, Hwy 8 to Hwy 95 and then straight north. We take a lunch break in El Centro at the In & Out Burger, it’s always a treat for cheap. We are now moving from moist warm air, to very dry hot weather. This is high season for Lake Havasu, the snow birds book their space a year in advance and everyone else who wants a space should do the same. We finally find a place at Sam’s Beachcomber however we have to boon- dock (no power or sewer) and they still charged us $45 per night, the bonus is we can back right up to the lake. We make it in around dinner time, check in at the office and we are invited to the clubhouse for a spaghetti feed, we’re the last ones to arrive and they made us feel welcomed. We are glad to have the meal as we’re tired and the food is home made which includes; spaghetti, salad, bread and cake. We are going to be here for a few days so we ask for an RV space inside the park with power/sewer when it becomes available. Last time we were in Lake Havasu City it was just for lunch on our way to Texas so no exploring. We look forward to exploring the Lake Havasu area as it has a lot to offer, the Colorado River feeds the lake so the water is pristine, the surrounding hills are open to hiking, ATV use, water sports and fishing is abundant.
