Wallowa Lake OR 9-3-2020

This is our last day here at Wallowa RV park, we are enjoying our time here and going back to Wallowa Lake for some Kokanee fishing tonight. We head to the city of Joseph and go to The Joseph Fly Shoppe, these guy’s have their thumb in the fishing scene. I talk to one of the staff and and get the low down on what to use and time of day to go. We arrive at the park where the river runs in and park our car. We get our waders on and gear up with a nymph. Out we walk to the calm cold water, seeing fish rolling in front of us, teasing us to what we might catch. The sun is starting to set sending most people back to their camp fire. We work the water, getting better with each cast, hoping for even the slightest interest. After 10-15 casts a feeling of disappointment starts to creep in, I change my fly on a hope that will change our luck, it doesn’t. With temperatures dropping we head back to our warm RV. We fix a one bowl dinner, it was awesome.
