Monmouth OR, 3-11-2020

We are within striking distance of getting home, it is 362 miles and over 7 hrs. of driving if we don’t stop. I really don’t want to make another nights stay on the road so we will go the distance. Our first stop is at Brookings OR to get fuel at Fred Meyers and lunch, its a beautiful day and back to Harris Beach Rest Area to make sandwiches. No sight seeing today so we can make it home before its to dark. The sun is setting and we are about 60 miles away from home, I decide to take a short cut I thought, Oh boy big mistake we meandered around the coastal range for an extra hour. Just what we needed was to add an extra hour of driving on to an already long day. We do arrive safe and glad to be home.
