Sacremento CA 4-11-2019

We are leaving Yosemite Lakes Thousand Trails and headed to Sacramento Area, back down the mountain with great views. Fires are always part of life here and the death of fire fighters in these mountains memorialized by a marker of two citizens from Groveland CA. who gave their lives. The views down this mountain were spectacular and as we meandered down the road we passed by Don Pedro and Melones Lakes.  The city of Angles Camp, another Gold Rush city from the 1860’s, was made famous with the 20 million dollars of gold taken out of the area but more recently (1928) by the Calaveras Frog Jumping contest written by Mark Twain and is still celebrated today. The longest jumping frog record of 21 feet 5″3/4 inches stands today set by Rosie the Ribeter. We reach our destination in Fair Oaks to stay with my step son and wife Nathan & Kristin Emmett. We are very proud of Nathan being a rocket engineer at a local business in the area, he took us through the plant and showed us what he does, I can barely spell rocket and he builds them.
