Swannanoa NC 3-1-2019

The rain keeps coming down and it’s time for the RV to have an oil change. Finding an oil change place can be a challenge because of the height of the RV, although ours is only 11′ 6″ I could only find one place in Asheville NC. Super Lube on Leicester Hwy got us in and out, I had to disconnect the Mini which is not a big deal unless its pouring rain. We have been working the RV hard going up and down the hills of the Smokey’s and it’s so important to keep on top of the maintenance for all kinds of reasons to include the warranty. Make sure you check the service centers website for discounts or any place you going to get service, we received a $20 discount. Feeling confident in our RV service down the road we go towards Swannanoa, NC where our next RV stay will be at Mama Gertie’s. We paid a little extra to be here because of all the great ratings. Its tucked away up a narrow curvy road in the trees with a creek running through it. We park in the large parking area in front of the lodge, a friendly staff greets us and gets us orientated on where we will park. We look forward to seeing Asheville tomorrow but for now we will enjoy the good WiFi, cable tv and the best showers we have ever seen. After getting parked we walk up the hill where the view of the surrounding mountains takes your breath away. If you choose to spend the extra money you can get a space up the hill with the view.
