Yamesse SC/ Fair Play NC, 2-25-2019

We are leaving Yamasee SC today and headed towards Ashville NC, the weather is clear this morning but the weatherman says there will be lots of rain where we are going to, Fair Play NC. This town was named for a fight that took place and a bystander yelled out Play Fair to the fighters, this part of the country has many unusual names for cities. Carolina Landing is our next Thousand Trails stay, we of course do our best to stay at Thousand Trails locations so we can take full advantage of the free nights that come along with our membership. Most of the locations are a bit rundown but you get what you pay for. This park is built on the rolling and rocky hills of North Carolina, our space is tight, treed and pretty rough, you can hear the water treatment plant below us with its steady pumping noise. The body of water you see in the picture is Hartwell Lake which is enormous, it stretches across two states and was created by Hartwell Dam. The trailer below is not ours but showing what the spaces looked like.
