Yosemite CA, 4-10-2019

We leave our Tachi Casino looking forward to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and a taste of Yosemite. Our road leads us through Le Grande CA. farm country and rolling hills with cattle sprinkle throughout. We make it in to Mariposa CA. a town full of Gold Rush history and quaint tourist shops. One we loved was the Class A Consignment store with the most diverse sign we have ever seen and as a bonus Angela found a great t- shirt for a dollar. After our big spending spree, we headed over to the 1850 Grill for bite. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was modern gold rush, their cork art was excellent. After our filling lunch we head down the famous HWY 49 which was the road to riches during the Gold Rush. I need to warn you if you are driving an RV and towing a car (42 feet) you can see your tow vehicle when executing on any of the hundreds of hair pin corners and check your brakes as it was down hill for us. Most of the hills were scorched with the many fires California has had and you would see many CALFIRE trucks running up and down the road getting ready for the next fire season. We get down the hill safely and continue to Groveland where we turn right and head back up the mountain to get to our destination Groveland CA – Thousand Trails Camp Ground. The air is cool and fresh with the smell of trees, the views of nature fills all your senses. Some of the Thousand Trails Camps are marginal but this one is excellent. We wish Yosemite Park was open but we are here too early in the season, we will save it for another trip.
