Detroit 3-14/15-2019

We got our RV in the shop and we head off to Detroit to visit our cousins, we are excited to see them and see the sites of Detroit. My cousin Laureen and her family have always been so hospitable, this time is no different as she has our schedule all filled up with great sites and adventures. We get rested and head out the next day to one of my favorite places, Henry Ford Museum, if you get to Detroit (Dearborn) do not miss this great place, if you can do it during warmer weather as they also are connected to Greenfield Village, another awe inspiring place full of our history. We choose to do the multi pass that includes Henry Ford Museum and a tour of Ford Rouge Factory, which have always wanted to go through. When you come for a visit allow yourself multiple days and comfortable shoes. I took many pictures, probably to many but I really only took pictures of what I could relate to or interested in. Many of the cars I remember or actually got to drive. I have associated each picture with a link below the picture, just click it and it will take you to more information. I won’t write a lot more as the pictures speak for themselves. If you wonder why so many pictures of the Byrd Arctic Expedition is that Angela is related to him, her mother was a Byrd. The Ford Rouge Factory was finished in 1928 and was the largest manufacturing plant in the world at 16,000,000 sq. ft. It was remodeled in 2019 and became a green manufacturing facility. They did not allow photographs inside the assembly line but it was fascinating watching robots and humans assembling Ford trucks. The last picture is my cousins Daughter Emily and boyfriend Tyler who was having is birthday party that evening.
